How to connect to the Internet using a wireless card in a desktop??
I know it's easy to connect using a laptop, simply choose a connection. I use a desktop computer to my house grandfather and I am being connect to the Internet, how do I set up without calling the cable company?? I guess I'm just trying to connect to the Internet without having to someones paying for it. This will only be for one week, then I moved into a house. I have my wireless card. Hope I explain this well. Thank you for the help I can not see the open connections.
Assuming the card is already installed …. 1) Is your wireless network connection enabled? How to check … Either a) Start -> Right-click My Network Places -> Properties 2) Start -> Control Panel -> Connections network Make sure the wireless connection is enabled. If it has a red X through it, right click and choose Enable. 2) Once you make it selected, right-click the wireless connection, and then click Settings View Available Wireless Networks. If there are wireless networks in range, they present. If none appear, then it is not within range of your wireless card.
